FORGIVENESS

 Hey Guys,

It’s been a while here. How have you all been? Let me just share something with you.

FORGIVENESS…….Forgiveness involves willfully putting aside feelings of resentment toward someone who has committed a wrong, been unfair or hurtful, or otherwise harmed you in some way. Forgiveness is not merely accepting what happened or ceasing to be angry. Rather, it involves a voluntary transformation of your feelings, attitudes, and behavior, so that you are no longer dominated by resentment and can express compassion, generosity, or the like toward the person who wronged you. Forgiveness is the act of intentionally letting go of anger and resentment towards someone who has harmed you. It can help you feel more peaceful and in control of your life, and can lead to feelings of compassion and empathy for the person who hurt you.

Forgiveness is different from forgetting or excusing the harm that was done, and it doesn't necessarily mean making up with the person who caused it. The effect of the wrong or injustice done to you is having negative effects on you and you've been living with these negative effects, like restlessness and too much anger and the likes. But to what end?

Most times, people tend to always hold on to the hurt that has been done to them…and the hurt is digging deep into your being. For example; “a guy cheated on you after you had given your heart and emotions in the relationship. He decided to marry another lady while you were in a relationship with him but you never knew”….finding out the truth is going to break your heart and shatter your soul. I know you won’t want to forgive him at all cost. But the truth is that he has moved on with his life and you are there still drowning in the emotional trauma he has caused you. I know this will be hard to swallow but that’s the basic truth.

Now you are using the heartbreak as a NO GO AREA sign for another guy/man who really likes you and his willing to do anything for you. Never use your PAST to react to your PRESENT, so as not to affect your FUTURE.

Listen, the effect of FORGIVENESS is not for the person that has hurt you. It is for YOU. It is for your growth and strength. The bible says “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us”…this means that until you forgive before you can be forgiven.
